Alliant Energy Electric Project in Gilman

Alliant Energy has begun an electric rebuild project in Gilman to improve service reliability. Michels underground crews are in town and have started construction.

Underground work is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. Alliant’s overhead crews are scheduled to finish the project in 2027.

Residents may see an increase in flags as crews request utility locates through 811 Iowa One Call. These flags help crews work safely and prevent interruptions to other services.

Restoration crews will follow behind construction crews to restore affected areas this fall. If winter weather delays restoration, crews will return in the spring to finish.
