This page is intended to help distribute information to the citizens of Gilman, Iowa regarding events, activities, and notices. 

Town Council Meetings are held at Gilman City Hall on the 2nd Monday of the month.

Deadline to add items to the meeting agenda is 12pm on the Wednesday before the council meeting.

Gilman City Ordinance 69.10 SNOW REMOVAL No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off -street parking area during snow removal operations unless the snow has been removed or plowed from said

Gilman, Iowa, is a small and welcoming community located in Marshall County in central Iowa. History of Gilman

The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad was instrumental in the town’s development, bringing economic growth and new settlers to the area.

The town was named after Charles Gilman, a railroad official who contributed to its founding. Like many small Iowa towns, agriculture played a crucial role in Gilman’s economy, with farming and livestock production sustaining the livelihoods of many residents. Over the years, the town has maintained its agricultural roots while adapting to modern advancements in farming and rural community life.
